Cacao Dreamer’s Elixir

Purpose:
Cacao Dreamer’s Elixir is a blend designed for dreamwork, introspection, and night-time rituals. Featuring herbs like chamomile and valerian, known for their calming and sleep-promoting properties, this elixir is perfect for those looking to enhance their dreaming and sleep quality, providing a gentle, soothing pathway into the subconscious.


Ingredients:

  • 1 oz (28g) ceremonial-grade cacao, chopped or grated
  • 1 cup (240ml) hot water or milk
  • 1 tsp dried chamomile flowers
  • 1-2 drops valerian root extract (be cautious with the dosage as it’s potent)
  • 1/2 tsp honey or maple syrup (optional, to sweeten)

Instructions:

  1. Steep the Chamomile
    If using hot water, steep the chamomile flowers for about 5-7 minutes to extract their full flavor and calming properties. Strain the flowers and then use the infused water for the next steps. If using milk, add the chamomile directly to the warm milk and let it infuse, then strain.
  2. Prepare the Cacao
    In a mug, place the chopped cacao. Pour the chamomile-infused hot water or milk over the cacao. Allow the cacao to soften a bit before stirring until smooth.
  3. Add Valerian and Sweetener
    Add a few drops of valerian root extract to the mixture. Be careful with the amount, as valerian is potent and can have strong effects. Sweeten with honey or maple syrup if desired.
  4. Serve and Sip Before Bed
    Drink this elixir 30 minutes to an hour before bed as part of your nighttime ritual. Inhale the soothing aroma, and let each sip gently lull you toward a relaxed state, preparing you for sleep and dreamwork.
