Heart-Opening Rose Cacao

Purpose:
This Heart-Opening Rose Cacao blend is crafted for ceremonies focused on love, compassion, and self-acceptance. Rose is known for its ability to open the heart, making it the perfect companion to cacao, which already carries a heart-opening energy. This recipe can be used in ceremonies centered on self-love, connecting with others, or embracing compassion.

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz (28g) ceremonial-grade cacao, chopped or grated
  • 1 cup (240ml) hot water or coconut milk (coconut milk adds a touch of creaminess)
  • 1 tbsp dried rose petals or 1-2 drops rose water
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract (optional, for added depth)
  • 1-2 tsp raw honey or agave syrup (optional, to enhance the floral notes)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Rose Infusion
If using dried rose petals, steep them in hot water or warm coconut milk for about 3-5 minutes to release their gentle flavor. Alternatively, add 1-2 drops of rose water for a more concentrated flavor.
  2. Mix the Cacao
In a separate bowl or mug, add the chopped cacao. Pour the hot rose-infused water or milk over the cacao and allow it to sit for a few moments. Stir or whisk until the cacao is completely melted and smooth.
  3. Add Vanilla and Sweetener
For added warmth, stir in a touch of vanilla extract. Sweeten with honey or agave if desired, balancing the cacao’s rich earthiness with a hint of floral sweetness.
  4. Serve with Intention
Breathe in the aroma of cacao and roses, allowing the fragrance to fill your senses. Sip slowly and mindfully, welcoming the heart-opening energy into your body with each taste.

Tips for Ceremony:

  • Creating a Heart-Centered Space
Consider surrounding your space with rose petals or a rose-scented candle to enhance the ceremony’s focus on love and compassion.
  • Setting an Intention for Love
Before drinking, set an intention of love, whether self-love, compassion for others, or a desire for deepened connections. You may also use this time to reflect on relationships you’d like to nurture or aspects of yourself you wish to embrace with kindness.
  • Visualization Practice
As you sip, visualize the warmth of cacao and rose spreading from your heart center throughout your body, filling you with a deep sense of love and connection. Let this sensation guide you through the rest of your ceremony.
