Ginger Cacao Awakening

Purpose:
Ginger Cacao Awakening is crafted for ceremonies focused on revitalization and energizing the senses. Ginger’s spicy kick stimulates the body and mind, enhancing cacao’s naturally uplifting properties. This combination is ideal for morning rituals or any ceremony aiming to invigorate and awaken.


Ingredients:

  • 1 oz (28g) ceremonial-grade cacao, chopped or grated
  • 1 cup (240ml) hot water or milk
  • 1/2 tsp fresh ginger, grated (or 1/4 tsp ground ginger)
  • A pinch of cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)
  • 1-2 tsp honey or maple syrup (optional, to sweeten)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Ginger Infusion
    If using fresh ginger, steep the grated ginger in hot water or warm the milk with the ginger for about 5-7 minutes to infuse the flavor. Strain to remove the ginger solids if desired. If using ground ginger, add it directly to the liquid and stir well.
  2. Mix the Cacao
    Place the ceremonial cacao in a mug or bowl. Pour the hot ginger-infused liquid over the cacao. Let it sit for a few moments to soften the cacao before stirring until it is completely dissolved and smooth.
  3. Enhance with Cayenne and Sweetener
    If using, add a pinch of cayenne pepper for an extra layer of warmth and stimulation. Sweeten with honey or maple syrup to balance the spiciness.
