Vanilla-Infused Cacao

Purpose:
The Vanilla-Infused Cacao is a gentle, nurturing drink that emphasizes simplicity and warmth. Vanilla’s soft, sweet notes blend beautifully with ceremonial cacao’s richness, creating a drink that’s perfect for rituals focused on self-care, relaxation, or gentle introspection. This blend invites a sense of calm and can be a soothing addition to evening ceremonies.

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz (28g) ceremonial-grade cacao, chopped or grated
  • 1 cup (240ml) hot water or almond milk
  • 1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract or a pinch of vanilla bean powder
  • A small pinch of sea salt (to enhance the flavors)
  • 1-2 tsp honey or maple syrup (optional, for a hint of sweetness)

Instructions:

  1. Heat the Milk or Water
In a small saucepan, heat the water or almond milk until warm but not boiling. The goal is to maintain a gentle temperature that preserves the delicate vanilla flavor.
  2. Mix the Cacao
Place the chopped cacao in a mug. Pour the hot water or milk over the cacao and let it sit for a few moments. Stir or whisk until the cacao is completely melted and smooth.
  3. Add Vanilla and Sea Salt
Stir in the vanilla extract or vanilla bean powder. Add a small pinch of sea salt to enhance the cacao’s natural flavors. Sweeten with honey or maple syrup if desired, adjusting to your taste preference.
  4. Serve with Mindfulness
Take a moment to inhale the comforting aroma of vanilla and cacao. Sip slowly, allowing the warm, nurturing qualities of vanilla to bring calm and relaxation.
